Because of Them, I Am!

"Because of Them, I AM" is a virtual event honoring our past; igniting our present; and inspiring our future as we celebrate amazing African-American women who boldly used their artistry and creativity to promote social injustice and racial inequality. On Friday, February 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., we will explore the incomparable body of work and enduring presence of Nina Simone, Nikki Giovanni, Judith Jamison, Ntozake Shange, Maya Angelou and Sweet Honey in the Rock who still influence our culture and consciousness.
